Relationships Require Commitment
I know that I have dated several men to see which one would be the best fit. Once I realized that person A was the best fit for me then, we decided to have an exclusive relationship. The point here is that I made a conscious effort and commitment to every relationship.
If you are truly in love with him, you don't want to be with anyone else. Don't get me wrong, you will be attracted to other people, but you would never act on that impulse. You would never want to hurt him. You want to spend time with him. You want to know his needs and desires. You virtually want to be there for him all the time. You also want to get to know those people that are important in his life.
This type of commitment requires time, patience, understanding, communication, honesty, trust, fidelity, loyalty, devotion, compassion, intimacy, and caring. Once you have mastered all of those elements, it is time to take things to the next level.
To gain that commitment, it usually requires that you think about him the morning and before you go to sleep. You want to talk to him during the day. You care for him. You are constantly thinking about him. He is exclusive to your fantasies. You have no desire to be with anyone else. You never get bored of staring at his photos. You want to put time into a relationship. You ultimately want him to be happy.
Realize that once you are dating that there is a world of possibilities out there. Open yourself a bit to everyone that you meet. Go out on dates. Experiment with different personality types. Find out what you are looking for. Don't let your guard down totally, but keep an open mind.
Once you find it, you will be able to figure out the right person and make that commitment to the relationship that you have always wanted.
